Roles and Responsibilities

  • To promote and enhance the seed of social service in the minds of the students.
  • To identify the needs and the problems of the community and involve the students in problem solving process.
  • To make students involve and render community service during emergencies and natural disasters.
  • To practice national integrity and social harmony.
  • To understand the community in which they work.
  • To understand themselves in relation to their community.
  • To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  • To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.
  • To develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities.
  • To gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
  • To undertake various programmes in the adopted villages / college campuse(s) and urban slums during weekends.
  • NSS volunteers are made aware of the basics of NSS programmes, through lectures, discussions, field visits and audio-visuals, etc.
  • To enhance the leadership qualities and democratic attitude of the students.
