To enhance students’ understanding of the film industry, explore natural beauty, and gain insights into retail management the department of English has organised one day Industrial Vist. The team consists of 24 PG students and 3 staff members.
The journey starts by around 8 am with the blessing and prayers of principal Rev. Fr. Michel Aro SDB. From the campus of St. Alphonsa college of Arts and Science, Karingal.
Chitranjali Shooting Spot, renowned for its picturesque settings and historical significance in the Indian film industry, served as the first destination for the students. The students were given a guided tour of the facility, where they learned about various aspects of filmmaking, including direction, cinematography, and production design.
The students actively participated in discussions and Q&A sessions, showing great enthusiasm and curiosity about the filmmaking process. They had the opportunity to witness live shooting schedules and interact with professionals, which provided them with practical insights into the film industry.
After visiting Chitranjali, the group proceeded to Veli Beach, a serene location known for its natural beauty and tranquil environment. Here, students engaged in group activities that fostered teamwork and communication skills. The beach setting allowed them to relax and reflect on the morning’s learning experiences.
Students were also encouraged to document their thoughts and observations about the differences between the entertainment and retail industries, providing a basis for future projects.
Lulu Shopping Mall
The final stop was Lulu Shopping Mall, one of the largest shopping complexes in India. The visit aimed to give students an understanding of retail management and customer service. Students were divided into small groups and tasked with analyzing various store layouts, marketing strategies, and consumer behavior.
The entire visit was meticulously planned to ensure a timely schedule. We reached safely back to the college at 6.15 pm.
