Guest lecture on the Nature and Scope of Chemistry

On August 26, 2025, the Department of Chemistry of St. Alphonsa College of Arts and Science organised a guest lecture on the Nature and Scope of Chemistry. The event took place in the Multimedia Hall at 10:30 a.m.. The program began with a prayer song by the Department Choir, led by J.S. Adlin Femi from the third-year B.Sc. Chemistry. This was followed by a welcome dance performed by R.S. Manju Shri and her team. S.R. Abinaya, a second-year B.Sc. Chemistry student, delivered the welcome address. Rev. Fr.Thomas Poovathumoottil, Secretary and Correspondent, gave the presidential address. Rev.Fr Ajin Jose, the Assistant Correspondent, offered a felicitation. The chief guest, Dr. C. Isac Sobana Raj, was introduced by Ms. J. Mary Vasantham, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemistry. Dr. Isac Sobana Raj the former Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry and Research at Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, delivered the guest lecture on the Nature and Scope of Chemistry. The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Dr. B. Jini Kumari, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemistry. The masters of ceremony were Ms. S.P. Angelin Abisha and Ms. E.B.
