A cognizant initiative entitled “Drug Abuse and its side effects” was organized by the coalition of Anti-Drug, NSS, YRC and RCC Committees in the multimedia hall on 02.08.2024. The event encompassed of two sessions. Mr. P. Sreekumar, the president of Lions Club of Thuckalay and Adv. Antush Jerome, practicing advocate of kuzhithurai sub-court were assigned as the chief guests. The physical director Dr. A. P. Seelan, bestowed the welcome address. The Principal, Rev. Dr. Michael Aro SDB educated and sensitized the students about the dangers of drug abuse, its impact on individuals and society, and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. The event witnessed an encouraging response, with more than 175 first and second UG students. The chief guests clearly underscored the strategies to obliterate the usage of harmful drugs and also imparted many social and moral values that need to be practiced among the student’s community. The committee members along with student volunteers played a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of the event. The diverse committees are extremely grateful to the entire management team, student volunteers and non-teaching staffs in making this event a great success. We are looking forward to resume this task again for the reforms of the students.
