The Department of Mathematics at St. Alphonsa College of Arts and Science proudly organized the Alpho Max-2K24 Inter School Competitions, which took place today. The event kicked off with an inauguration ceremony at 10:00 a.m. in the Multipurpose Hall. The inaugural address was delivered by our esteemed Correspondent and Secretary, Very Rev. Fr. Antony Jose, who set the tone for a day filled with enthusiasm, learning, and camaraderie.

Throughout the day, six engaging competitions were conducted:

  • Poetry Writing (in both Tamil and English)
  • Rangoli
  • Dumb Charades
  • Fashion Parade
  • Folk Dance

Each competition showcased the exceptional talents of the participants, reflecting their creativity, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

In addition to the competitions, our college students contributed to the lively atmosphere by entertaining the participants and guests with a vibrant dance performance in the morning and a melodious song session in the afternoon. These performances added a special touch to the event, making it memorable for everyone involved.

The Valedictory ceremony began at 2:30 p.m., where our esteemed Principal, Rev. Dr. Michael Aro SDB, delivered the Valedictory address. Rev. Fr. Ajin Jose our campus minister and Dr. R. Sivanesan encourage us by their presence. During this ceremony, Sacred Heart School, Padalthalmoodu, was awarded the overall championship trophy, recognizing their outstanding performance across the competitions.

The top three schools were honored with cash awards:
First Place: ₹5000 – Sacred Heart School, Padalthalmoodu
Second Place: ₹3000 – APJM Matric HR Sec School, Susaipuram
Third Place: ₹2000 – St. Aloysius HR Sec School, Velliavellia

A total of 19 schools participated in the event, with around 307 students taking part in the various competitions. The event was a resounding success, reflecting the meticulous planning and hard work of the department of mathematics , the enthusiastic participation of the students, and the support of the staffs , our students and faculties.
